CASA joined the Coordinated Victims Assistance Center-CVAC- of the Miami-Dade County. We have an office in this center where we offer only legal services to victims of domestic violence.
The Coordinated Victims Assistance Center in Miami, Florida, is a walk-in center for all domestic violence and sexual abuse victims and their children. In order to make it easier for you to get the help that you need, many agencies are collocated in the Center. When you visit the Center, you can expect a safe and caring environment with one-on-one free services and support. On your first visit to the Center, you will meet with a screener who will help you identify what services you need. The screener will then refer you to the appropriate on-site partner agencies and to other services and resources available at the Center. The Center is located in a building with security to ensure your safety. You should check in with the security guard located in the entrance of the building. You will then be asked to go through a metal detector before entering the Center.
EVERYONE has the right to live in a home where they can feel safe. You are not alone. The Coordinated Victims Assistance Center is here to help you.
CVAC was created to eliminate the barriers faced by victims. CVAC is currently comprised of 33 onsite partners, who collectively offer a total of 33 services to the community. CVAC created a central assessment protocol and system, which allows the intake staff at the Center to evaluate the needs of clients as it relates to the onsite partners/services and to the approximately 20 off-site partners/services that collaborate with CVAC. At the Center, we offer free onsite assistance with regard to many aspects of the clients’ lives, from therapy to vocational classes. CVAC offers a coordinated service delivery model that is client centered.
